Way back on September 12 I said I would soon be posting about the
"Carmondy Countdown Calendar" I made.
Here it is, finally!
I know now that I should have waited a little longer to make this because it is so HUGE (7' long)!! When I finished making it I was not sure that I was going to hang it up because it was so big. I have come to the conclusion that I LOVE being able to put stickers on the days that have been referred every month.
When we first made the decision to adopt and I started reading the blogs of other people that were adopting, one of the first ones I started reading was
The Carmody Adoption Journey. They had the great idea to create a
"Carmondy Countdown Calendar". A little while later I discovered that 2 other waiting Mom’s,
Catherine &
Dawn, had made one as well. So I figured, why not, I might as well make one too!

"Carmondy Countdown Calendar" is here's how it works. There's a calendar from November 2005 right up to December 2006. We will count down
LID's (log in dates) until the
CCAA (China Centre of Adoption Affairs) gets to ours, which is
December 29, 2006. Each square of the calendar represents 1 day of files that
CCAA needs to match with families before they reach our
LID(December 29, 2006). Last month referrals were sent out to cover and include up to November 30, 2005, so I put stickers on the remaining days left in November. It's usually near the end of the month when the
CCAA update their website about how many days worth of
LID's they'll be sending referrals for.
Hopefully at the end of this month we will receive LOTS of day’s worth of referrals.
