LID, Where Are You??

We are still waiting for the official word on our LID (Log In Date). Our documents were sent to China on Nov. 30/06, usually the LID is approximately 1 month later. LID's are not usually sent out until something else is comming to our provience so I am praying, even more than usual, that someone in Nova Scotia gets a referal soon!

While reading some of my favorite blogs this weekend I came accross this VIDEO. The little girl in this vodeo is Steven Curtis Chapman's daughter, Shaohannah Hope. The Chapmans have adopted three little girls from China. They have become passionate champions for adoption starting a foundation for adoption assistance and advocacy called Shaohannah’s Hope, named after the first of their adopted daughters. This family is truly insperational!

“Xin Nian Hao” / “Guo Nian Hao” ~

Today is the start of the YEAR OF THE PIG!

We celebrated the Chinese New Year today in honour of our daughter. Here's a few pictures of our lunch (YUMMY!) Very nice lunch with lots of laughs and chat time about "Maggie" and our trip to China:

All of us wore our China shirts, here is Larry in his. I couldn't have a picture of mine because as per usual, I slopped dinner all over it! LOL!

Jeff, Lisa & the girls were down yesterday. Jeff was busy (again) on the livingroom, which is comming along nicely!

There is no way we can ever repay the generosity of these two, you guys are AWSOME! Here is a picture of the beautiful new shelves Jeff made:

Here is what the Google homepage icon was today, how cute is this!

My asthma has been very well controlled but lately it seemed like any little thing would flare it up. This weekend I guess the combination of saw dust, the weather, and the slight cold I have been trying to beat got the best of me. Now I have been advised to re-book my appointment to go to the asthma clinic. Hopefully this will straighten things out again.

Well that just about sums it up for this weekend. Oh by the way Happy Belated Valentines day everyone, love ya' all!

~ Larry, you are everything I ever dreamed of and MORE!!! I am the luckiest girl in the world! Thank you for the very special supper and Valentines Day present; China Rises -
I'm sure we will learn a lot from it!

XOXO ~ Love Nikki ~

Anyone Bored?

We have had a very un-eventfull weekend, just enjoying some time together ... I mean me and the computer, not Larry, LOL!! :o)

I don't have much time to post tonight but I will give you this:

Boredom: is a state of mind in which one interprets one's environment as dull, tedious, and lacking stimuli. There is an inherent anxiety in boredom; people will expend considerable effort to prevent or remedy it, yet in many circumstances it is accepted as an inevitable suffering to be endured. A common way to escape boredom is through creative thoughts or daydreaming. (Or even better check out the links below!)

Causes: People often experience boredom in circumstances where they are forced to wait (often at airports, in prisons, at government offices, at school or while doing homework) and in social situations where attention is demanded. This might be at school, at work (often in a meeting or presentation), or even among family when there is no natural motivation to pay attention. People who feel bored may lack the ability to change the situation or may lack the motivation to do so.

This link was put together by an adoptive parent. The video is the referral pictures of all of the children in their travel group and then pictures of their children 2 years later. VIDEO

This is something fun to pass the time and relieve frustration, ha, ha, ha! Have fun! (Sydney you will love this!)

Have a great week everyone!
