Wicked Halloween Wishes For YOU!

Tomorrow I have a full day planned so I thought I would come and wish you all a very HAPPY HALOWEEN!! After work tomorrow I am going to take my godchildren out trick-or-treating. I go out with them every year. Oh I can’t wait till’ Maggie is home and can go with us!

I have dresses up every year to go out with them and this year is no exception. My costume is really easy this year…I am wearing my PJ’s and going as a little (or not so little) girl at a slumber party! I hope everyone has a fun evening weather you are trick-or-treating or giving out treats.

Enjoy the flashback video!
Did you watch this show?? I did and I loved it!

LID & Birthday Wishes!

birthday Comments
Today is a special day at our house because it is my HUBBY'S BIRTHDAY AND OUR 10 MONTH LIDiversary!! Friday night we went out for supper to celebrate early. Tonight we had birthday supper at home and ice-cream cake.

I am so happy to finally be in the double digits for our LID. Not sure why it matters since we still have a really long wait but I feel like it was another milestone. The next big one is the one-year mark; I can’t believe it is only 2 months away! Some days of this wait are better than others but today is a good day! I hope referrals come soon and there are lots of them! The rumours sound good so far but I won't bet the farm on them yet.

Here is another Sesame Street memory to celebrate the number 10 in honour of our LID.

My Husband Thinks He's Funny...

Larry thought this would be a great addition to my blog.

Ok, I gotta' admit, it's kinda' funny.

I certainly do enjoy blogging though and love all the people I have met through it! Thanks to everyone for dropping by and leaving such nice comments!

I know I have added a lot of you to Facebook already but just in case anyone wants to add me I have added a profile badge to the sidebar. Thanks to Becky at Chloe Makes 6 for her great instructions. I love getting to know you all better.

"Carmondy Countdown Calendar"

Way back on September 12 I said I would soon be posting about the "Carmondy Countdown Calendar" I made.

Here it is, finally!

I know now that I should have waited a little longer to make this because it is so HUGE (7' long)!! When I finished making it I was not sure that I was going to hang it up because it was so big. I have come to the conclusion that I LOVE being able to put stickers on the days that have been referred every month.

When we first made the decision to adopt and I started reading the blogs of other people that were adopting, one of the first ones I started reading was The Carmody Adoption Journey. They had the great idea to create a "Carmondy Countdown Calendar". A little while later I discovered that 2 other waiting Mom’s, Catherine & Dawn, had made one as well. So I figured, why not, I might as well make one too!

So now, for anyone that doesn’t know what a "Carmondy Countdown Calendar" is here's how it works. There's a calendar from November 2005 right up to December 2006. We will count down LID's (log in dates) until the CCAA (China Centre of Adoption Affairs) gets to ours, which is December 29, 2006. Each square of the calendar represents 1 day of files that CCAA needs to match with families before they reach our LID(December 29, 2006). Last month referrals were sent out to cover and include up to November 30, 2005, so I put stickers on the remaining days left in November. It's usually near the end of the month when the CCAA update their website about how many days worth of LID's they'll be sending referrals for.

Hopefully at the end of this month we will receive LOTS of day’s worth of referrals.

Weekend Wrap-Up

Friday:

I left work early so we could head to Halifax do a little shopping and go to our waiting Mom’s & Dad’s group meeting. This was our first one and it was really nice. I have been in contact with both Jocelyn & Natalie for quite some time through Facebook so it was nice to finally get to meet them in person. We met at Applebee’s and had some appetizers, drinks and good conversation.

“Thanks for the invite Jocelyn & Natalie, we had a great time!!”

Saturday:

This morning I ran some errands and did some baking. Saturday night Donna, Larry, Dardy and I went to a local bar for some laughs & some dancing. We had a lot of fun and saw some crazy stuff!

(We also saw a lot of “celebrities” too … right Donna?? LOL!!)

A Song For The Soul

I just had to share this song. If you haven't heard it yet please have a listen. This song always puts a smile on my face, lifts my heart and makes me feel good.

I hope it brightens your day too!!

Colbie Caillat "Bubbly" Song Lyrics

I've been awake for a while now
you've got me feelin like a child now
cause every time I see your bubbly face
I get the tinglies in a silly place

It starts in my toes
and I crinkle my nose
where ever it goes I always know
that you make me smile
please stay for a while now
just take your time
where ever you go

The rain is fallin on my window pane
but we are hidin in a safer place
under the covers stayin safe and warm
you give me feelins that I adore

It starts in my toes
makes me crinkle my nose
where ever it goes
I always know
that you make me smile
please stay for a while now
just take your time
where ever you go

What am I gonna say
when you make me feel this way
I just........mmmmmmmmmmm

It starts in my toes
makes me crinkle my nose
where ever it goes
I always know
that you make me smile
please stay for a while now
just take your time
where ever you go

I’ve been asleep for a while now
You tucked me in just like a child now
Cause every time you hold me in your arms
I’m comfortable enough to feel your warmth

It starts in my soul
And I lose all control
When you kiss my nose
The feelin shows
Cause you make me smile
Baby just take your time
Holdin me tight

Where ever, where ever, where ever you go
Where ever, where ever, where ever you go

I'd Like To Thank...

Disappointing Craft Sale and a Decision...Help!

Well the convenience of the laptop has definitely paid off today! Today I was at a Christmas craft sale in Chester and it was one of the worst ones I have ever been to!! The number of crafters was way down and the attendance of buyers was down as well. I decided last night that I would bring my laptop with me today just in case we had a lull in customers. I am so glad I thought to bring it!!! I used it most of the day! Larry came down to help me pack everything up and he took a picture of me at the craft sale with my laptop.

Tonight I spent about 2 hours on CafePress
trying to pick out a t-shirt I want for Christmas. There are so many nice shirts on there I couldn’t decide! I also saw some designs on there that I really thought were in bad taste, I think most of you know what ones I mean.

These are four designs I liked:

#1

#2

#3

#4

Thanksgiving Day!

Happy Thanksgiving Day to all my Canadian blogger pals!!

Today is Thanksgiving Day in Canada. Larry and I went to my Mom's for ham dinner. Of course we all stuffed ourselves silly. I had made individual cherry and blueberry cheesecakes for dessert and they were so yummy!

After all the dinner mess was cleaned up my Mom and I went to town to browse some of the little shops. I found some good ideas for Christmas gifts.

Oh by the way, there is just:

The question is...is this our last Christmas without Maggie????

Supper, Books & Surprises

Monday night Larry and I went out for supper to celebrate having 9 months behind us. We went to Swiss Chalet and had yummy supper.

A while ago on one of my Yahoo groups there was some discussion about some really good books. I mentioned them to Larry and Wednesday these arrived:

I can't wait to get reading these, but it will be a while since I am in the middle of 2 others right now, lol!

Thursday when I arrived at work I had a cute little surprise waiting for me. Her name is Ellie and she is the sweetest little ladybug. My co-worker and friend LeeAnn left me this prezzie.

Thanks LeeAnn, Ellie made my day!!

Phantom liked Ellie too!

Mahone Bay Scarecrow Festival

Here are a few pictures from our Scarecrow Festival gathering. We all had a great night of carving and browsing the town looking at the scarecrows and pumpkin carvings (150+ pumpkins!!). Then we came back home and everyone stayed for a few drinks and a campfire.

Some of you may remember this post.
Well finally my baby Dell has arrived, all 9lbs. 5ozs. of pinkness!!!

I am loving the freedom of having a laptop!!
