Emotional Overload!

So as most of you know we were not in the last batch of referrals...

BUT…

Yesterday I received a message from Cathy at Children’s Bridge that she was looking for a copy of our provincial approval. (I was planning on sending this to her once we had a new one completed to amended the level/degree for cleft palate.) She insisted that she needed this right away for our file because she could not send out any referrals without a copy of this. She also said, “we have received more referrals” … So I called her back right away to let her know that I hadn’t sent the copy of our first provincial approval because we were in the process of completing an amended to it which I was planning on sending to them once it was finished. Of course she was not at her desk, so after calling MANY times in the end had to leave a message for her to call me back.

Today around 11:30am my phone rang and the call display said Children’s Bridge…this is when my day took the wildest turn ever!!!!!!!!!!

I told her why she didn’t already have a copy of the letter and she said it should be all right and for me to just fax her a copy of the first one we had done. She then said again, “as I’m sure you know, we have received more referrals”. She also told me that because we live out of the province of Ontario, our provincial Children’s Services would have to be the ones to call with our referral news. At the end of the call she said, “because of provincial rules I can not say much but I think by the end of the day you will have some GREAT news”. Cathy finished the call by saying she would make some phone calls to our social worker and our local Children’s Services and call me back this afternoon.

Insert here: shaking hands, the in-ability to speak, and TEARS…LOTS of tears!!!!!!

So after my mini meltdown I dug out the approval letter and faxed it her and then called Larry. He was excited but still a little in disbelief that it is really going to happen.

Not knowing what the next phone call later in the day would bring I gave my camera to my co-worker/friend, Donna, so she could take pictures of me getting the call. Another co-worker/friend, Mary, brought her personal laptop in to my office and set it up so I could record the phone call with her webcam. Everything was ready…

So I kind of fumbled through the next couple hours and at approx. 2:30 Cathy called to let me know she was in touch with our social worker and NS Children’s Services and the wheels are in motion!!!!!! So tomorrow we will set up the cameras and webcams again to try to capture a special moment...guess we will just have to wait and see!!!

I feel like I am caught in an emotional storm!!!

This journey has been LONG but during the next few days a miracle WILL happen!!!!!! ♥

Parties and Pictures and No Power...

~ Well our power is out so while it is I will write a (much needed) post in Word and have it ready for Blogger when the power comes back on. ~

Last weekend we were very busy with Christmas parties. First we had the Children’s Bridge Christmas party to go to and then the same night we also went to my company party. The Children’s Bridge Christmas party is always nice to go to because it is great getting to see all the beautiful little cuties home with their forever families. Each time we go to one of the Children’s Bridge get-togethers we get to see the dreams really do become reality. It was especially nice this year because Son Pham got to attend as well. Son Pham is a little boy from Vietnam who came to Canada in hopes of receiving medical treatment. Children’s Bridge has been very involved in helping Son find the medical care he requires. Click HERE for more information and ways to help.

Here are some pictures of the adorable little munchkins from the party.

Our company party was an absolute BLAST! Earlier this month our company decided against having a Christmas party. So three of us, myself, Donna and Lee Ann, decided to take it into our own hands and put together our own company Christmas party for everyone. After a meeting and some company support, in 2 ½ short weeks we had the party planned. Everything was ready, including location, food, prizes, speeches, decorations and a DJ. We had fun planning everything and I would do it again!

Here are some pictures from our evening.

(I'm not sure that doing "The Locomotion" with co-workers is a good idea...)

I also got my hair cut last week, it was getting long and I couldn’t do anything with it so it was time for a change. If I get brave I might post a before and after picture. :o)

~ Our power was out for over two hours, oh well I guess it could have been worse. ~

Picnic's and Pictures

Today was an absolutely perfect day for a picnic! The sun was shining and the air was warm. What a nice way to be able to touch base with everyone we have met through the previous Children's Bridge events.

Below is a slideshow of the park where the picnic was held and some of the brown-eyed cuties!! A couple we met at the Christmas party last year are back from China and we got to meet their little sweetheart Amelia, check out those cheeks in the slideshow!!

We love being able to attend these events and actually see that after all the waiting … dreams really do come true!

1 Year...ALREADY!?!?!

Today marks our 1 year anniversary of delivering our adoption application to Children's Services! In other words the beginning of our adoption! It is so hard to believe we have been working towards our baby this long, and the long road still ahead.

Yesterday I received an email from our agency validating our fears; our wait time has increased by approx. 6 months. Larry & I kind of knew this in the backs of our minds but once I received the email, reality hit hard. Just when we get excited about having another month of waiting under our belts ... WHAM, we hit a brick wall. This was not the kind of news I wanted for my birthday. As most of you know though, this is a worst case scenario for us to use as a guideline. So for the months to come we will pray and prepare for our baby girl, and hope that the wait shortens.

On a happier note:
I had a nice day and received some wonderful gifts! I will post pictures this weekend. Larry and I are going to enjoy a relaxing evening watching 2 movies:

Christmas Party

| View Show | Create Your Own

It has been so long since I have posted and now I am posting for the second time today! I have been trying out Rock You for making photo displays and I love it! This is a sample of what I have done so far. These pictures are from our agency's Christmas Party that Larry and I went to on Dec.3. We had such a good time and met some really nice people.
